Home Health Aids

Home and HealthyUncategorized

Admitting that you or a loved one needs help with the activities of daily living is a frighting proposition, but it does not have to be!

As you know, the goal of Home and Healthy is to provide the resources for you to stay in your home. That goal not only involves the health of your home, but also  your personal health.

With that goal in mind, I took the necessary classes and clinical training to become a Certified Home Health Aid (CHHA) in  2015. My goal in this was not to pursue a career specifically in home health, but rather to become more educated and prepared to help you or a loved one with the challenges of aging. Below are some of the skills I’ve learned as well as some of the knowledge I have acquired while working as a CHHA:

  • How to handle medical crises in the home
  • Caring for the elderly
  • What a home health agency offers
  • How home health agencies operate

One misconception about home health aids is that they only care for the sick and physically disabled. While we are trained in that area, a lot of our job is helping out with the daily activities of living such as laundry or meal preparation and even just providing companionship. We are happy to help with a lot things around your home.

While I’m not one to toot my own horn, I have learned a lot about all the different facets of the home health aid industry.  Therefore, when you have questions about home health aids, give me a call for a consultation.
