New Car Time?
Has your car seen better days? Are the mechanic bills becoming noticeably higher? It might be time to think about getting a new car, yet the idea of having to go car shopping is a daunting thought. So, to give you greater confidence for your next car buying experience, here is some information we discovered from our research and an interview with a 20 year veteran Ford salesmen:
First, do some research on the type ( aka: size, price, performance, etc.) of car you would like before you go to the car lot. Google “reviews” on all the makes and models in which you are interested. This will make you a far more informed buyer.
Second, bring a friend. A friend can be there to bounce ideas off of as well as provide moral support.
Third, find a car that fits YOU; beyond just price. Can you easily get in and out? How’s the visibility? Does it have backup cameras to help with visibility? If you’re not extremely comfortable in the car, it’s probably not the best fit for you.
Fourth, ask yourself if the car has all the features you want. If you have done your research, you will see most cars these days have many different configurations. Features such as 5 way power seating, glare reducing mirrors, and safety systems are just some for the features available that are helpful as you get older.
Fifth, if it is at all possible, don’t take the car home the first day you see it. This gives the dealership adequate time to clean and prep, as well as time to make sure you feel confident about your purchase.
With these 5 tips in mind, don’t be afraid when it’s time to look for a new car. After all, a new car is always fun to drive home!
